Israeli Airstrikes Target Southern Lebanon Amid Rising Tensions

In the latest escalation against Lebanon, Israeli occupation  forces launched a series of airstrikes on southern Lebanon early this morning, targeting what the Israeli military described as Hezbollah positions. The attacks come amid a period of heightened tensions along the borders, following weeks of skirmishes and increased military attacks in the region.

Israeli warplanes reportedly struck several locations near the Lebanese town of Marjayoun, a strategic area near the border, causing significant damage to infrastructure and residential areas. The Lebanese Red Cross has confirmed hundreds of casualties. Several homes and schools were reportedly destroyed in the strikes.

In a statement released after the strikes, Hezbollah condemned what it called “an act of aggression” and vowed to continue resisting Israeli occupation. The group also claimed that the Israeli attacks were aimed at intimidating the Lebanese population and pressuring the Lebanese government during a period of political instability.
