Macron Condemns Israeli Genocide in Gaza, Urges Immediate Ceasefire and Humanitarian Access

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed deep indignation over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, condemning Israeli genocide that has resulted in significant civilian casualties. He called for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access to the besieged enclave.

Macron described the situation as “shameful,” criticizing Israeli occupation for obstructing aid deliveries and exacerbating the suffering of Palestinians. He urged the United States to exert pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to allow humanitarian assistance into Gaza . The French President’s remarks came amid reports of Israeli airstrikes causing over 400 Palestinian deaths, primarily women and children, marking one of the deadliest days in the conflict . Macron emphasized that such actions have “no justification” and called for an end to the bombing of civilians

Furthermore, Macron reiterated France’s commitment to a two-state solution, announcing plans to potentially recognize a Palestinian state at an upcoming UN conference in June . He stressed that mutual recognition and stability are essential for lasting peace in the region.

The international community has echoed Macron’s concerns, with UN experts warning of potential mass annihilation of Palestinians and urging immediate action to prevent further civilian casualties . As the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, Macron’s call for a ceasefire and humanitarian access underscores the urgency of addressing the crisis
